About this tool
The Engagement Rate Calculator helps you measure social media performance using three industry-standard formulas: Engagement Rate by Followers (total engagements divided by followers, ideal for benchmarking and cross-account comparisons), ER by Reach (engagements divided by reach, showing how well your content resonated with people who saw it), and ER by Impressions (engagements divided by impressions, useful for paid campaign analysis).
Engagement includes likes, comments, shares, saves, and clicks. The tool provides a benchmark comparison — showing whether your rate is Low, Average, Good, or Excellent relative to typical rates on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn. All calculations run locally in your browser.
How to use
- Enter your metrics. Input total engagements (likes + comments + shares + saves), and your follower count, reach, or impressions depending on the formula.
- Select the formula. Choose ER by Followers (most common), ER by Reach, or ER by Impressions via the tabs at the top of the calculator.
- View results. Your engagement rate percentage appears instantly, along with a benchmark comparison showing how your rate stacks up against industry standards.
