Fill in the fields below to generate complete SEO meta tags. See live previews for Google, Facebook, and Twitter.
About this tool
The Meta Tag Generator helps you create a complete set of SEO and social media meta tags for any web page. Meta tags are crucial for search engine visibility and social sharing — they control how your page title appears in Google results, what description shows as the snippet, and how your page looks when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
This tool generates all three essential tag sets at once: standard SEO tags (title, description, canonical URL), Open Graph tags (for Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Pinterest), and Twitter Card tags (for X/Twitter). Built-in live previews show exactly how your page will appear in Google search results, Facebook news feed, and Twitter timeline.
All tag generation happens locally in your browser. The values you enter are never sent to any server.
How to use
- Enter your page details. Fill in the Page Title (50-60 characters recommended), Description (under 160 characters), Canonical URL, and optional OG Image URL and Site Name.
- Review live previews. Check the Google, Facebook, and Twitter previews on the left to see exactly how your page will look when shared or displayed in search results.
- Copy the generated HTML. Click "Copy Tags" and paste them into the
<head>section of your web page. The tags include title, description, OG, Twitter, and canonical link.
Frequently asked questions
What are meta tags and why do they matter?
Meta tags are HTML elements that provide information about a web page to search engines and social platforms. The title tag appears as the clickable headline in search results. The meta description appears as the snippet below it. OG and Twitter tags control how your page looks when shared — the image, title, and description that appear in the preview card.
What's the difference between OG tags and Twitter cards?
Open Graph (OG) tags were created by Facebook and are used by most social platforms including LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Slack. Twitter has its own twitter:card system. If Twitter tags are absent, Twitter falls back to OG tags. For optimal cross-platform sharing, include both sets.
Is the data I enter stored anywhere?
No. The Meta Tag Generator runs entirely in your browser. All values are processed locally and never sent to any server.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes. The Meta Tag Generator is fully responsive and works on all modern browsers including iOS Safari and Android Chrome.
