About this tool
The Social Media Image Resizer lets you resize any image to the exact dimensions required by each social media platform — all in your browser. Every platform has different optimal image sizes, and uploading the wrong dimensions leads to awkward cropping, blurry previews, or important content getting cut off.
This tool includes presets for Instagram (square posts and vertical Stories), Facebook (link post images), Twitter/X (inline post images), LinkedIn (post images), TikTok (vertical video thumbnails), YouTube (video thumbnails), and WhatsApp (profile pictures). Select a preset and the tool fits your image perfectly into those dimensions — centering it and filling the background with white where needed.
All image processing uses the HTML5 Canvas API and runs locally. Your images never leave your device.
How to use
- Upload your image. Drag and drop an image onto the upload zone, or click to browse. Most image formats are accepted (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG).
- Choose a platform preset. Click one of the platform buttons — Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, or WhatsApp. The preview updates instantly to show how your image fits the selected dimensions.
- Adjust quality and download. Choose High (90%), Medium (75%), or Low (50%) output quality. Click Download to save the resized image to your device.

Instagram posts: 1080×1080 (square), Stories/Reels: 1080×1920 (portrait). Facebook: 1200×630. Twitter/X: 1200×675. LinkedIn: 1200×627. TikTok: 1080×1920. YouTube thumbnails: 1280×720. WhatsApp DP: 400×400. Click any preset in the tool to see these dimensions applied.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All image processing happens locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images are never uploaded to any server — the tool works fully offline after the page loads.
Which image formats can I upload?
The resizer accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and SVG images. Output is always JPG format. For photos, JPG is recommended. For graphics with text, use PNG as your source and download at high quality.
Does this work on mobile?
Yes. The Social Image Resizer works on all modern browsers including iOS Safari and Android Chrome. You can resize images directly from your phone's photo library.
